Fall in the Okanagan

September – October

Crush Season

Grape harvest is the Okanagan's biggest moment. Wineries are operating at full tilt, harvest tours are available, and the valley smells extraordinary. If you're here in late September or October, you're here at the best possible time.

Okanagan Wine Festival

Typically the first two weeks of October. 40+ wineries, hundreds of events — winemaker dinners, barrel tastings, vineyard tours. One of the best wine festivals in Canada.

Ask our concierge to help you get tickets to the events you want before they sell out.

Orchards & Markets

  • Apple and pear harvest runs September through October
  • Davison Orchards (Vernon) — corn maze, farm market, fresh cider, worth the drive
  • U-pick apple orchards across the valley — call ahead to confirm hours
  • Farmers markets at peak selection before they wind down for winter
  • Artisan and craft fairs begin in October

Fall Scenery

  • Myra Canyon trestle walk — dramatic fall colours, a BC bucket list item
  • The benches above Kelowna — vineyards turning gold and red
  • Okanagan Mountain Provincial Park — best in September
  • September lake light: photographers know about this. Most tourists don't.

Make the most of harvest season.
